We believe the Executor of a Will has run off with the money. What can we do?
My fiancée has a 25% share in a Will, but the Executor has not contacted her and she is unable to trace him. It appears he has run off with the money, to put it crudely. Is this fraud in the eyes of the law? What can we do?
If the Executor has 'run off with the money' then this would constitute theft at the very least and would be a matter for the police to investigate. He would also be guilty of maladministration and his appointment as Executor would be withdrawn by the Court. If you believe that a theft has been committed then you should contact the police.
